“Do We have Time For You!”
Before opening The Clock Shop our shop was called Pandora’s Box selling mainly clothes, children’s toys and gifts, Norman my partner was doing the buying for the shop and I was running the shop, Norman bought a few children’s clocks with moving eyes and swinging pendulums (novelty clocks), in no time at all I was selling more clocks than anything else in the shops. Over a bottle of red wine I came up with the concept of just selling clocks, we packed up the clothes and toys and gave it all to charity and what an amazing journey it has been for us since then.

The concept of The Clock Shop originated from the very first Finders Keepers that took place in the Sunday Times magazine in the year 1989. The first million rand was hidden behind a clock in the wall in the pub of the Dullstroom Inn. Three years ago we opened The Clock Shop with a few fun clocks covering the back wall and today we can boast that we have the largest selection of clocks in one shop in the southern hemisphere.

We officially opened The Clock Shop Dullstroom on the 1st September 2007, have subsequently been to The Watch and Clock Trade Show in Hong Kong, The Canton Fair in China, visited the factory in China, brought in 19 containers of stock, opened a warehouse, franchised the company and have six outlets to date. Our six outlets are scattered all over South Africa, Dullstroom, Parys, Clarens, Franschhoek, Van Der Bijl Park and Hartebeesport Dam. Every moment has been most enjoyable and we are still ticking away.

We have our own web site www.theclockshop.co.za        www.gotu-trading.co.za

DULLSTROOM BIRD OF PREY AND REHABILITATION CENTRE

Dullstroom Bird of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre is probably the biggest centre of its kind in the whole continent of Africa. They house over thirty species of birds, and fly different species in two edutainment shows every day. These take place at ten thirty and two thirty.

You will be amazed to see a peregrine whizzing past your heads at over 100 kilometres an hour, or an Owl so silent as it flies over your head that you wouldn’t even know it was there if you hadn’t seen it with your own two eyes. Plus the two Mark’s that host the show are a show all by themselves with their wit and knowledge, they keep everyone on their  toes.

Children are catered for before or after  the shows with a nice jungle gym and a small petting zoo, and families can even stay the day and try their hands at the easy catch trout dam where you can use all methods to catch, not just fly. For the less energetic there is a lovely little coffee shop come restaurant with homemade produce to eat or take away. A wonderful atmosphere makes for a lovely visit, go and enjoy, you will not regret it.

African Pewter Works was established in Dullstroom in 2008. We manufacture a range of home ware products using pewter, glass and wood, designed in collaboration with various artists in the area.

The spin cast pewter products are made in our workshops rented from Epilepsy SA in Dullstroom. Our main business, however, is to assist designers and artists to develop and enhance their own businesses by creating their own exclusive range of pewter products.

We make stems for wine glasses, handles for beer mugs, cheese and bread boards, picture frames, cheese buttons, tablecloth weights, animal and bird napkin rings, knives, forks, salad servers, spoons, butter knives, sugar spoons, paperweights and key rings, trophies and awards, cheese platters and cake plates.
