Our beautifully clear night skies are a stargazers dream but at this time of the year they do come with a few problems. Last night (Wednesday 16 June) saw temperatures plummeting to below -7 deg.C. The hardware shops and plumbers must have had a field day as people ran around madly trying to fix burst water pipes that had frozen overnight.
